Cleanse, Day 1

pH 5.8

Today is the first day of a 2-week cleansing that Ray and I are embarking on. I woke today with a positive affirmation, breathing exercises and lymphatic stretches. One, called the Calming Breath resonated with and, well, calmed me. It is a simple 5-minute breathing exercise each morning before you rise from bed (or any time in the day that you feel stressed). Here’s how to do it:

Sit comfortably. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the nose during this breath. Inhale for 2 counts, hold for 8, and then exhale for 4. I sounds simple, but the results are profound. This has a deep, calming effect on the nervous system.

I have a 2-page check list of drinks, walks, capsules and exercises today. While I have been pre-warned that detoxing can be a bit stressful overall, I am feeling fantastic and quite excited. The sludgy drink I was semi-dreading turned out to be not-so-bad and the rest appears to be smooth sailing. And, birdies are chirping outside of my window. Happy day!
